Finding savings for energy efficiency, through mechanisms such as smart metering, is a challenge that Azimut takes on with its clients every day.
In the case of success that is presented below, for the PACTIA organization, two challenges were established, the first to be able to control the operating costs of the more than 30 properties of the business lines: shopping centers, buildings, hotels, logistics parks , BTS and UStorages and the second, to have tools that allow the control and monitoring of critical asset variables for business continuity through modules such as SCADA and the use of smart metering.
“More than a contractor, Azimut is our strategic ally in energy efficiency. Over the years, teamwork and synergy have allowed us not only to unite the strengths of both teams, but also to innovate and propose new projects and strategies that are now a reality in our company” Catalina Cadavid, Operations and Projects Manager.
Solution: intelligent measurement of critical assets.
Pactia, one of the largest in the country’s real estate sector, has implemented Azimut’s smart metering strategy in its assets. Implementing smart metering since 2018, to monitor your energy consumption in real time.
This smart metering is today one of the most effective strategies when it comes to understanding how a property consumes energy (Superintendencia de Industria y Comercial, 2016) and Azimut, understanding this reality, applies it to the energy management it offers its clients. a bit of IoT, cloud computing and data analytics.
Pactia has more than 200 measurement points and Gateways (the latter developed by Azimut) in more than thirty properties that it operates throughout the national territory, controlling variables not only electrical, but also thermal, fuel level, pressure of the firefighting network systems and others, to manage critical assets through the AZIMUT platform with its smart metering and alarm modules, historical consumption, executive reports and SCADA.
Figure 1 shows the start of ACTIVA, Azimut’s management platform, through which PACTIA controls its consumption and allows the creation of early warnings to improve operations and thus extend the useful life of its assets, validate opportunities of savings, adequately manage the maintenance and information on the status of critical systems for business continuity.

In 2021, it was a finalist for the same award, which highlights the ability to manage energy efficiently and innovatively, generating a highly positive impact. We see this situation clearly reflected in the savings that PACTIA presents from energy consumption by 24%.
